Two Dead in Plane Crash at Centerville Airport.

What follows is a fictitious newswriting exercise for educational purposes. Any resemblance to persons living or dead is purely coincidental.

Earlier tonight a small single engine plane crashed just after takeoff at Centerville Airport leaving two dead. According to Jeff Belden of the local FAA the plane took off at around 9:15 pm and crashed in a field adjacent to the runway.

Dr. Richard Sabatini
Local Cardiac Surgeon
According to Lt. Feldman of the local police department, the plane belonged to Dr. Richard Sabatini, a local cardiac surgeon, and his wife Lydia. The two were on their way to the Fontainbleau resort for a skiing holiday when they went down.

Dr. Sabatini managed to get off the ground, but then radioed the control tower saying he was having a hard time keeping control of the plane. The plan crashed killing both of them only moments later. Belden suspects the strong winds may have been the cause of the crash.

We here at the Centerville Gazette would like to extend our condolences to the family and friends of Dr. and Mrs. Sabatini. They will be missed.
